ardas statusas T sritis ekologija ir aplinkotyra apibrėžtis Miško, pievos, vandens telkinio augalų bendrijos antžeminių ir požeminių vienos grupės organų vertikalus sluoksnis, kuriame vyraujančių augalų asimiliuojančios arba absorbuojančios dalys yra prisitaikiusios prie tam tikro atmosferos, vandens ir dirvožemio režimo, pvz., pušys, bruknės ir samanos sudaro brukninio pušyno tris atskirus ardus. Miškuose gali susidaryti 3–5 medžių ardai. Vasaržaliams lapuočiams būdinga lajų, kamienų, krūmų ir žolių ardinė sandara. Pietinės taigos mišriuose spygliuočių ir lapuočių miškuose išskiriami keturi ardai: du medžių ardai (pirmasis – eglių ir drebulių, antrasis – mažalapių liepų, paprastųjų klevų, paprastųjų guobų), trečiasis – krūmų ardas (lazdynai, raudonieji sausmedžiai), ketvirtasis – žolių ardas.
